I have been enjoying my day off with Evan. He loves playing Play-Doh more than anything else in the world. So today we went to Toys R Us and got this awesome Play-Doh Dentist Set.
Now you are staring at the screen asking yourself...but I thought they were on a budget and one of her resolutions for 2014 was to not buy her kids toys. Technically I don't count this because...I am signed up for a Toys R Us rewards card. Every time you make a purchase at Toys R Us or Babies R Us the cashier will scan your card and they will mail you rewards dollars. Since it is January (right after the holiday season, and I did a good amount of shopping at Toys R Us) I received $15 in rewards dollars that I have been saving. Went to Toys R Us today with the mind set that we would get something in the Play Doh aisle for only the amount of the reward bucks and Evan wanted this little gem of a play set. He really enjoyed himself too because he walked to the front of the store put it on the check out counter and then paid with his rewards dollars. Got his own bag and even told the cashier to have a nice day. He was one happy shopper and even though I spent money on holiday gifts last month to get the reward dollars for this month it did not cost me an out of pocket penny! Good shopping day with Evan and even more fun playing dentist at home.
Make sure you sign up for any store that you frequent for their online coupons or store card. Its worth it to have a nice after noon out with your big kid shopper :o)
